Attention Volunteers:  VIRTUS - Protecting God's Children Training Sessions

It is an archdiocesan requirement that all volunteers who interact with children take a free, three hour VIRTUS - Protecting God's Children training session. This training is valid for five years and can be used throughout the Archdiocese of Denver. All Classes are currently being held virtually.  See link below to register.

Mission Statement for the Denver Office of Child and Youth Protection

The Archdiocese of Denver is committed to promoting a safe environment for the children and young people in our care. The primary responsibilities of the director are to ensure compliance with the American Bishops’ Charter for the Protection of Children and Young People, to serve as the victim assistance coordinator for the archdiocese, and to act as the archbishop’s liaison to the Office of Child and Youth Protection of United States Conference of Catholic Bishops.

Parish Volunteers: We welcome and encourage parents and other interested parishioners to be an active part of religious education and youth activities within our faith community. Below are some steps to get you started:

  • Learn about all the different programs that our parish has to offer and decide what would be the best fit for you and your family (explore our website or contact the parish office)
  • Contact the Religious Education Director to fill out a volunteer application.
  • All volunteers (over 18) involved in programs that include minors are required to:
    • Attend Protecting God's Children training offered by the Archdiocese of Denver
    • Read and sign the Code of Conduct: Code of Conduct
    • Consent to, and sign an authorization for, a Criminal Background Check (see Documents at right).
    • Complete a Volunteer Hold Harmless Agreement (see Documents at right).

We regularly hold Protecting God's Children classes Archdiocesan Schedule of Classes 

Trainings last about three hours. There is no fee for the class, but pre-registration is required.
