My Dear Parishioners & Friends,
After many months of prayer, consultation, and study I am very excited to share the plans for a new church at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton as we begin Phase I of our parish Master Plan! It is my hope and prayer that a new sacred worship space would help us in advancing this mission and leading St. Elizabeth Ann Seton families to an even greater encounter with the Lord.
Over the years, the leaky roof and other maintenance issues in the church have gradually increased in scope and severity. In the spring of 2016, after rigorous review by our engineers, it was determined that it would be more cost effective to build a new church rather than undertake massive internal repairs and renovation. It became clear that challenge was real, and in fact a great opportunity for St. Elizabeth Ann Seton. It is an opportunity to complete the original vision of our parish, to build a place of worship that will be a sign of our trust and love for God, and, finally, it provides an opportunity to come together as a parish with a renewed passion for our faith and community. From baptisms, to weddings, to funerals (and all the sacraments and celebrations in between!) we have the opportunity to unite in building God’s house in the present and our spiritual home for many generations to come.
Our campaign is off to a great start! While it is important that we reach our goal of building our new sanctuary, it is of greater importance that we have the participation of every parishioner who calls St. Elizabeth Ann Seton their spiritual home. I realize that every family in our parish has different circumstances and only you can decide what amount to give, but we need gifts of all sizes – even $10,000, $25,000, $50,000 or more. Our Campaign is being conducted on the basis of equal sacrifice, not equal giving. While we are asking each family to consider a pledge of $4,000 or more payable over 3 years (or just $3.29 a day with a 10 percent down payment!), all pledges and donations are accepted, needed, and greatly appreciated.
If you have questions, please ask me! If you have not already done so, kindly return your pledge envelope to the office as soon as possible or click on the link to set up your pledge through Faith Direct! I thank you for your receptivity, for your prayers, and for your support as we “Put out into the deep”. Together, God will enable us to meet the challenges of today and the promise of tomorrow.
