Confirmation preparation is open to all high school students who have not yet been confirmed. The program is a two-year period of preparation with the reception of the Sacrament during the second year. Confirmation I begins in 9th grade and Confirmation II begins in 10th grade, with the reception of the sacrament of Confirmation in the spring of the 10th grade year. Emphasis is placed on growing in the knowledge of our Catholic Faith and living our faith as a witness to Christ. Classes meet either on Sunday mornings or Wednesday evenings. Parental involvement, retreat attendance, weekly Mass attendance and active involvement within the parish through volunteer service hours are all required components. The program begins in September and concludes in May. Registration can be done on-line using the RE Registration link to the left or is available in the church office during business hours. Please contact the Religious Education Department for more information or for Volunteer opportunities. Please note that if your student was enrolled last year in Confirmation I you MUST re-register this year for Confirmation II.

This year, as 9th and 10th graders, you have the opportunity to attend class on Wednesday evening from 7:00-8:30 or on Sunday mornings from 11:00-12:00.  Below is the schedule of classes, which is subject to change due to currently unscheduled parish activities or inclement weather.

9th Grade Students:  October 14 - 16, 2011

10th Grade Students:  February 10 - 12, 2012

Please plan ahead by talking to your teachers and coaches.  We realize that sometimes there are conflicts and that most of these can be resolved by good planning.  Be assured that any sacrifice you make by adjusting your homework or sports schedule will be well worth it.  Your relationship with Christ lasts a lifetime!

Outside of the regularly scheduled classes, you will have additional opportunities to grow in faith and experience community through participation in special mission trips, prayer services, Date Night, May crowning, Totus Tuus and the newest addition to our program: Conversational Catholicism, which will meet the 2nd Thursday of the month.  This will be another great opportunity to discover the richness of our Catholic heritage.

As we begin another year of faith formation, you will notice many new and exciting things.  We ask that you keep the teachers, priests and all volunteers in your daily prayers as we work together to prepare for a generous outpouring of the Holy Spirit.  In the event of class cancellation due to inclement weather, please refer to this website for class status. Please note if PR-1 is closed due to weather, classes will not be held.
